The Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society
The Society shall be an independent, not-for-profit organisation, the purposes of which are to:
(1) promote best practice in sustainable agricultural production and land management;
(2) encourage research and education in agricultural and land management issues of concern to the local region, including the awarding of scholarships and other incentives;
(3) provide a forum for the sharing of knowledge of agricultural practices and production and land management;
(4) disseminate information to the general community and to particular audiences on agricultural and land management issues by conducting shows, seminars, field days, exhibitions and other appropriate functions;
(5) assess and, where appropriate, support the development of new agricultural and land management industries, practices and technologies;
(6) undertake activities to ensure that appropriate traditional agricultural and rural crafts and skills are maintained for posterity;
(7) provide a forum for fellowship and social interaction for members;
(8) develop a positive relationship between the urban communities and the agricultural and rural communities.
